Ylod Part 5?

Oh yeah, i'm getting my new PS3 (yes new XD) December 5th.
It'll even have another 1 year warranty to not use and have it break some time afterwards. lol

kl im gettn mine monday unluky its shame u n' me av to miss out on gd games i.e i missed cod:waw and ur gunna miss R2 but i'd rather miss cod than R2 unluky man

i have 2 things to say;
1) ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
2) hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

also, all of these things that apparaently stop you from getting ylod didnt really work
i.e having window open, leaving lots of space...

Well Brimmy, lets just work out just how many hours my PS3 lasted. I started running F@H from 26th March (when i got wireless to work in my house) Back then i didn't really have any plans for getting a team to such high a rank, so i didn't Fold all that much. Say 1 night every 2 nights. Add to that an average of around 2 hours a day (back then) and you have n average of around 6 hours a day.

From Around May onwards i would run F@H every night. Add to that me now playing on my PS3 around 3 hours a day and you have now 11 hours average a day.
So you have around 1month 10 days of 6 hours a day with my PS3 on and from then on 11 hours a day, right up until now. That's basically an average of 11 hours a day. Take away holidays but add on extra play all nighters etc and you have an average of say 10 hours a day from 23rd March 2007 to 21st November 2008

Thats around 621 ish days. That's 621 x 10. 6210 hours which means my PS3 lasted a total of 258.75 days. Tbh, that's pretty amazing. I'll have to make sure my next PS3 gets YLOD within warranty, so i'll treat it really badly and get those 6.2k hours in within a year.

Maybe i'll put a cloth over the fan so it overheats a lot
Lol, jokes. I'll treat it like a god. I had a thermometer in my room and my room's like 8 degrees at night with the window fully open. I can guarentee my PS3 wouldn't have done half as many hours if i didn't do what i did.

He didn't run F@H, so the average time his PS3 was on was half mine at the most. He got YLOD first PLUS even he didn't treat his PS3 badly (vacuuming it ) So yeah i would say that leaving the window open and leaving lots of space for my PS3 does help. Plus vacuuming every month or so does seem to help a fair bit. My PS3 was silent after a good vacuum sometimes
Maybe i should buy some sort of special tent for my PS3, so that dust can't get in? I'd have to sort out ventilation and everything as well though, maybe i could just feed in compressed air and the tent could act as a fridge too, keeping the PS3 at 3 degress (a perfect temperature) Yeah, i'll do that

The guy told me it's a 60 gb model. It was one that wasn't shipped (i.e not sold) Sony has a whole stash of them
They also do that thing where they replace everything in the PS3 that is broken or looks like it might break (aka a new PS3) i'm getting the first one though.

*sigh* My PS3 isn't coming until 19th December now.....
